Regularly-scheduled oil changes: The key building block
To
give your Mazda a long and healthy life, you're probably already aware that
regular, factory-recommended oil and filter changes are the first and most fundamental
step. Because motor oil circulates throughout all the critical components of
your engine, it's collecting the tiny bits of dirt and grime and metal that can
infiltrate any engine in the process of driving. With every oil change you
flush out the invaders and provide fresh lubrication.
Â
How often should I change the oil in my Mazda?
The
frequency of your Mazda oil changes will vary based on several factors. In
general, with today's advanced synthetic motor oils, your Mazda may be able to
go as long as 7,500 to 10,000 miles between oil changes. However, if you drive
primarily in urban areas, stopping and starting a lot, you may need an oil
change more often.
If you don't drive your Mazda that much,
it might need an oil change every 3 months regardless of miles. Because of the
different ways our valued customers in Springfield, VT and Newbury, NH drive
their Mazda vehicles, we encourage you to talk with one of our service
advisors. With a little knowledge about your transportation needs and driving
style, we can advise you on the right oil change intervals for your Mazda.
